Bruce Slab is a type family inspired by work from The Bruce Foundry and the quirky character of early grotesques, with geometric elements added for a contemporary spin. The project started as a study of weight, width, and contrast, exploring how to design for different extremes, ultimately arriving at a family with four styles: thin, regular, italic, and display black. The family is designed to work well in editorial applications where the range of styles allows for different narrative voices to come through.
