Momentum is a reverse contrast sans typeface inspired by the curves and speed of hand-painted signs, sports and outer space. I posed myself the question, “What if NASA created a professional sports league?” and thought about how the speed, strength and movement of athletes could translate to an environment like space.
Concepts of strength and speed are often associated with hard and extreme angles. However, in space, I tend to think of round forms without hard edges. I set out to explore how these things could live together—speed, movement and strength without hard angles or pointed corners.
Momentum currently consists of three display styles and offers partial support for Roman script languages. I plan to expand the number of styles and provide more robust language support.
