Pasteur is a low-contrast, sans serif typeface with a industrial, yet humanistic touch. The inspiration for this typeface sparked as I was making an Italian broth– When I added in the parmagiano reggiano cheese rinds for flavor, the letterforms floating in my dutchpot made me realized what I’ve been taking for granted my whole life—I sometimes forget about the letters on the golden rinds that have been pushed into the cheese itself—it has a life of its own, evolving and changing as it ages.
After two semesters of intense learning and tinkering, the typeface evolved from a revival copy of the cheese stamp lettering, into a typeface with a life of its own.
