Rong Xiang
Ronda is a modern humanist typeface based on Nicholas Jenson’s Venetian serif. The intent of reviving Jenson’s Roman was to use the source as a reference to better understand the humanist contrast model. The goal is not to create a literal revival of Jenson, but to capture its essence as a humanist typeface while applying a geometric approach to its formal qualities to create a rationalized silhouette.
Rong is a New York-based designer focused on brand identities, interactive design, and type. She strives for thoughtful and robust creative solutions that balance clarity and delight. She holds a BA from the University of Pennsylvania.
